Understanding how your PAN Card travels from NSDL/UTIITSL to your doorstep helps you track it better.
PAN cards applied through NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) are dispatched via India Post Speed Post. Tracking numbers from NSDL typically start with A (bulk sender code). NSDL SMS format: "Your PAN Card dispatched vide Speed Post No. AK123456789IN".
PAN cards applied through UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology) are also dispatched via India Post Speed Post. Tracking numbers may start with A or E. Check your UTIITSL application status at utiitsl.com before tracking.
Start tracking 24 hours after receiving the dispatch SMS from NSDL/UTIITSL. The consignment number is activated in India Post's system within 24-48 hours of physical dispatch. Tracking before that may show "No information".
If your PAN card was returned undelivered, update your address at NSDL/UTIITSL portal immediately. Request re-dispatch — a new tracking number will be issued. Most returns happen due to incomplete address or recipient unavailability.
